In 1938, Prof. Hong was born in Qinghua Street of Wuyuan County.
In 1943, he began to receive basic education.
In 1953, he learned Chinese medicine from great teacher and worked hard on classics of TCM.
In 1956, he worked in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Wuyuan Hospital and learned clinic skill from famous doctor – Pan Xihuang.
In June 1957, he was admitted to Jiangxi Training School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In September 1958, he engaged in Chinese literature and clinical practice research in Jiangxi Institution of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In August 1959, he was admitted to the Jiangxi Medical College and majored in western medicine for four years.
In 1961, he was transferred to the Department of TCM in Jiangxi Hospital and engaged in clinical medicine.
In 1964, he was transferred to the Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and engaged in teaching Treatise on Cold-induced Disease.
In 1969, he held the positions of resident physician, deputy chief physician, deputy director of the Department in affiliated hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In December 28, 1973, he joined the Communist Party of China.
In October 1983, he was appointed as Vice President of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in charge of scientific research, medical treatment and university-run industry.
In 1986, he was entitled a master instructor by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Department.
In 1986, he served as the Chief Editor of Jiangxi Journal of Chinese Medicine.
In March 1987, he took the chair of associated professor of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1987, he was elected as the member of the Second Committee of Chinese Medicine Association.
In October 1989, the CPC Jiangxi provincial committee appointed him as the party secretary of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In December 1989, he engaged in Chief Physician of Chinese medicine in affiliated hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1990, he was selected as the instructor for carrying on famous TCM expert`s academic experience by National Ministry of Personnel, Health and TCM Administration.
In 1990, he was elected the representative of the Ninth Congress of the Communist Party of China in Jiangxi Province.
In 1991, he enjoyed the special subsidy of the State Department.
In 1991, he attended the International Conference on traditional medicine (Beijing, 1991), and
was received by the national leaders at the Great Hall of People.
In 1991, he gave the lectures on Korean International Conference on the development of new
drugs.
In June 1992, he served as professor of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In June 1992, he was invited by the French University of traditional Chinese medicine in Europe
to give lectures and was employed as a visiting professor.
In 1992, he was elected Chairman of the Jiangxi Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1992, he was appointed as deputy editor and in charge of the Great Book of Literatures on Life
Preservation which was published by Gansu people's Publishing House.
In January 1993, he was elected the member of the eighth Committee of Jiangxi Province.
In June 1993, he got invited by the American Academy of acupuncture and American Institution
of Chinese medicine to give lectures on international academic conferences and provide medical
services.
In 1993, he was recorded in IBC Cambridge as "the international celebrity" and "the international
famous intellectual."
In 1993, he was received by President. Jiang Zemin.
In 1993, he managed in compiling the book of Study on the Mode of Higher Education in China,
which was published by Education Science Press.
In December 1994, he was conferred the first group of instructors for carrying on great TCM
experts` academic experience.
In September 1995, he was elected the representative of the tenth Congress of the Communist
Party of China in Jiangxi Province.
In 1995, he was invited again by French University of traditional Chinese medicine to give
lectures.
In December 1995, he gave lectures to the American College of Traditional Chinese medicine, and
was hired as a visiting professor.
I n 1995, he went to the Medical Institution of Okayama University for visit and investigation.
In 1995, he compiled the book of treatments on intractable miscellaneous diseases which was
published by the Press of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1995, he was employed as an expert for the New Drug Evaluation Center of the Health
Ministry.
In 1995, he served as director of the Pharmacology Base of New Drugs.
In 1996, his new drug – Juanxiao Tablet was granted a certificate as Third-class New Chinese
Medicine.
In 1996, he compiled the chapter of pulmonary disease in national-planning textbook "Internal
Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine" which was published by the Shanghai science and
Technology Press.
In 1996, his paper on pharmacological and clinical research of the Juanxiao Tablet in the
treatment of bronchial asthma won the first prize of Excellent Paper Award of Jiangxi Technology
Association.
In 1996, he served on the Fourth Science and Technology Progress Advancement Award
Evaluation Committee as Vice Chairman.
In 1996, he served as the Director of the Institute of Respiratory Disease of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1997, commissioned by the provincial government, the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee, appointed him as Secretary of the Party committee and board director of the Pharmaceutical Group of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In February 1992, he became the resident instructor for masters majoring in internal medicine of TCM in Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In December 1997, he went to Malaysia College of traditional Chinese Medicine and gave lectures on TCM and was hired as a visiting professor and was conferred an honorary president.
In 1997, he wrote the book – “collection of jiangxi famous TCM experts` clinical experiences” which was published by the Shanghai science and Technology Press.
In February 1998, he was elected the ninth deputy to the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, the ninth NPC member, and vice chairman of the Education Committee.
In 1998, he was invited by Belgian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine to give lectures, and was hired as a visiting professor.
In August 1998, he attended the Eighth National Academic Conference on Pulmonary Disease of TCM.
In 1998, his monograph “the Great Dictionary of Fomulas” was awarded the first prize of the TCM Basic Theory Research by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In November 1998, his new drug – Juanxiao Tablet won him the gold medal at the international invention Expo in Hongkong and got interviewed by Dong Jianhua.
In 1999, the Great Dictionary of Fomulas won the third prize of National Science and Technology
Advancement Award.
In April, he was awarded the title as one of the first group of "Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Scholars of Jiangxi Province”.
In 2000, he attended the International Congress on Traditional Medicine (Beijing, 2000)
In 2000, a certificate of invention patent was conferred on him by State Intellectual Property Office upon his new drug for treating bronchial asthma.
In August 2000, he gave lectures on the Ninth National TCM Academic Conference on lung disease in Guiyang.
In 2001, he was selected as committee of internal medicine chapter of Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese medicine.
In 2001, he was elected the Vice Chairman of the Fourth Council of the Jiangxi Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2002, he was appointed the resident instructor and visiting professor to Guangdong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2002, he was engaged as the resident evaluation expert for National Natural Fund Committee.
In 2002, he was selected again as Vice Chairman of Internal Medicine Chapter of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2003, he was engaged by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the advisor for editing the textbooks on integrated Chinese and western medicine.
In 2003, he was elected the director of the fourth Traditional Chinese Medicine Academy.
In 2004, he was appointed as evaluation expert for Science and Technology Advancement Award by Traditional Chinese Medicine Academy.
In 2004, he has been granted the state invention patent over new medicinal liquor for the treatment of sexual dysfunction.
In 2005, he was conferred new drug certificate upon Dongwan Zhike Granule by State Food and Drug Administration.
In October 2005, he was selected as Advisor of Pulmonary Disease Committee of the First World
Association of TCM.
In 2005, he was appointed as an academic advisor of Chinese Medicine Bulletin
In September 2008, he was employed as an instructor of doctors majoring in clinical medicine of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
In July 2014, he was entitled one of the second group of Chinese medicine Masters.
At November 1, 2014 19:29, Prof. Hong passed away in peace.
